Part 1 of My Experience Playing At A Premier League Football Club

Being given the opportunity to play at Premier League Football Club is an experience I am going to hold very close to me for the rest of my life. It’s
amazing how much you can learn about football in such a short time, just by being surrounded by some of the best athletes and professionals in the business.

I arrived in England at the end of June 2017 with no idea what I had in store for me. When I arrived, alone and overwhelmed in one of the biggest cities in the world, my agents were still negotiating a couple of trials. I didn’t know where I would be heading. I was generously staying with my agent who lived in West London, passing the time by staying fit and on top of my skills with Bromley Football Club.

After a week had passed, I received the green light; I was on my way to my first trial – Premier League side Watford Hornets Football Club. I’m not going to lie, my mind was initially racing… What was I going to see, who was I going to meet, what was I going to learn? But I focused on the job I had to do get that contract.

I travelled solo for two hours to North-West London, mentally preparing myself for Premier League Pre-Season. I checked in to a Holiday Inn that was a 10-minute walk from the training ground, which was great because it helped reduce my stress of relying on public transport to get to training on time the next morning (my terrible run with public transport is a story for another day hahaha).

As the pressure and stress built that night I calmed myself down by packing my bag ready for the morning, talking to family back home and headed to bed early with an alarm for 7am set. I was ready.
